Little Note: This story is purely for fun, and to keep the people from the Ares & Xena Shippers Club from going crazy!!

Disclaimer: I get no profit from this story. The characters Annalise, ECT, as well as the story idea belongs to ME!! The characters Xena, Ares, Gabrielle and Joxer do not belong to me, they belong to whoever owns X:WP and H:TLJ! The fictional Atlantian characters I made up belong to me too… But the idea of Atlantis belongs to Homer I think! (If I’m wrong, then it belongs to whoever came up with it!) And I am just borrowing them. No copy write infringement intended. Please do not use this story on your web site, web page ECT. without first asking me and receiving my permission, you may however use this story for private use, but must use it with all disclaimers and warnings. If you would like to send this story to a friend, please ask me first, and receive my permission, and you must not get any profit from the transaction.

Authors note: Wow that was a pretty long disclaimer wasn't it?? I hope I got everything in though, I don't want anybody to take this story the wrong way! This is what happens when I watch ‘Search for the lost Empire of Atlantis’ on TLC (The Learning Channel, not the band) and then decide to write… Note to authors, that is a REALLY bad combination!! Everyone else got to say ‘On an all new Xena, battle on Xena’ in their promo’s, well everyone who had promo’s… And I wanna too, so I’m gonna even though the show is over. *Sniffle*

Dedications: This story is for Kevin Smith’s family, Katherine, Illyandria, Barb, Noie, Liz, Something Royal, Sara, Tali, Tareena, Maureen, Megan, Mel, Eris, G.O.M, Grey, Lily, Joxerfan, Ephy, Acacia, Korianna, Destiny, Gata, Kari, Gala, Destiny, LadyKate, Tango, Amber, Electra, Erika, Jodie, Cora, for everyone I missed, and for everyone at the shippers club for their support, and for liking my stories, even when I didn't! (Man I really should alphabetize)

Warnings: Sex: Nuh uh, just some mentioned. Subtext: None. Language: Nope. Violence: Yahuh.

Oh Yeah: This is MY story and I can do anything that I feel like with it, and I intend to exercise my rights. So I’m gonna attempt battle scenes, which I must admit I suck at, so anyone willing to help…. I’m experimenting with a different writing style too...IE, I have a detailed outline! Also this has a PROMO! Cool, eh? Especially for me, thanks for the inspiration, LadyKate and Ephy! Oh, and all, this is a real action/adventure/romance Xena fic, I mean it, there’s plot!

Rated: PG-13

Summary: A battle between the Greeks and Atlantians ensues… But what happens when you’re friends with the enemy?

‘Some day you’ll see things my way… Cause you never know, you never know when you’re gonna go…’ by ‘Limp Bizkit’ from the song ‘My Way’ from the CD ‘Chocolate covered starfish and hotdog flavored water’

Song Choice note: Not the best, I know, but I was listening to it when I FINALLY got around to writing this story.

Feedback: Sure I love it! I really do! (Something else to add to my disclaimer too!) Go ahead, send Goddess_Delenn@yahoo.com your comments! Good or bad (hopefully good) comments and critique are what a bard thrives on!

Now for the story!!!!! *Everyone still here claps*

!~(*)~!

Xena and Gabrielle are walking down a dirt road, Argo’s reigns being held by Xena. Birds are singing nearby in the treetops, and a cool summer breeze is blowing their hair back slightly. Gabrielle asks happily “Wow, Xena, no warlords, no armies, nothing to do for a whole two days! This could be a new record!”

Xena laughs good-naturedly “Yeah, you’re right Gabrielle… I’ll go out of my mind at this rate!”

Gabrielle playfully punches her friend on the arm, carefully skidding out of the way of a retaliating punch. “Just listen to the birds… Have you ever wondered what they are saying?”

Xena chuckles, edging closer to Gabrielle, “I bet they’re saying something bad!”

Gabrielle cries, outraged, “Xena!” but in her thoughts about the birds, she neglected to notice how close Xena has gotten to her.

Xena punches Gabrielle on the arm and takes a step back, grinning broadly “Gotcha!”

Gabrielle half pouts, well aware that she fell headfirst into that one, “Hey!”

Xena stops dead in her tracks as they round the top of the hill. “Gabrielle, shh.”

Gabrielle also stops in order to look down into the valley, where an army is camped. Suddenly she waves to a figure below “Look! It’s Pallicus!”

Xena is still eyeing the army warily “Who?”

Gabrielle sighs, leaning on her staff in excitement. “Pallicus, I met him in Athens. Remember, Xena?”

Xena curtly replies “No.”

Gabrielle shrugs “Oh well, come on… I’d love to catch up with him.”

Xena shakes her head, still scanning the area cautiously. “Alright, I’m coming, Gabrielle.” And follows her friend down the hill and into the valley.

Gabrielle was already hugging Pallicus, who Xena only vaguely remembered. As soon as Xena neared them, Gabrielle broke away and introduced “Pallicus, you remember my friend Xena, right? Xena, this is Pallicus.”

Pallicus reaches out and clasps arms with Xena in respect. “Nice to see you again, Xena. Although I must confess, I don’t really remember you…”

Xena forces a half smile “Same here. So, you’re in an army now?”

Pallicus nods, gesturing towards the farmlands near where the army is camped. “Yes, we are protecting the small farming communities around here. I would be happy to show you both around, if you would like? I can take your mount, Xena.”

Gabrielle practically bounces, “Oh, yes! That will be wonderful… And you and Xena can get to know each other again!”

Xena follows the two at a slightly slower pace, as she soon discovers that Gabrielle and Pallicus have a lot to catch up on, and are perfectly content to do so. She spots the commanders tent, and quietly slips away from her friends, “Let’s see what’s really going on with this army.”

Crouching down between some barrels and the tent, Xena pulls out one of her daggers and cuts a small hole in the tent fabric. She sees who is obviously the armies general, and another man in strange clothing arguing. They are too far back for her to hear what they are saying. Finally the generals draw swords, and the stranger is killed. Xena takes a step back and sneaks back to Gabrielle and Pallicus, who are still talking. “Uh, Gabrielle, we should probably be going.”

Gabrielle and Pallicus turn back to Xena. Gabrielle smiles somewhat sadly “The tours almost over, right Pallicus?”

Pallicus nods, and is about to comment when a loud yell is heard “MEN here, NOW!!”

Pallicus jumps slightly, and quickly says, “That’s the commander… I better go Gabrielle, Xena. Wonderful seeing you both again.”

Xena nods and watches most of the army scurry towards the tent, grabbing Argo’s reigns from where Pallicus dropped them. “C’mon Gabrielle, we really should get going.”

As they start walking up the opposite hill Gabrielle asks “You were pretty quiet, Xena, is everything okay?”

Xena half smiles “I’m ALWAYS quiet, Gabrielle. I’m just glad you two got to catch up.”

Gabrielle leans on her staff for a moment, pondering something, “Xena?”

Her only response is “Hmm…”

Gabrielle hurries to catch up with her fast paced friend. “What do you think the commander wanted?”

Xena shrugs, her back to the bard, “I don’t know, Gabrielle.”
